Impact Damage From A Fox

Hi all.

Well my morning got off to a crap start. A fox bolted out in front of my car this morning and I hit it straight on. My car is a Avensis T3-X 06 2lt Diesel.

See attached pictures of damage.

Does anybody have any experience with body work and what possible costs I'll be looking at?

Also, is there other type of damage I should be looking at for? (I'm not mechanically minded)

I'm heading over to a local Toyota dealer in 2 hrs to get it inspected and a quote to fix.

Would I appreciate any advise.

Thank you

S

Ouch.... I am sorry to see the damage :(

If you get a decent body repair specialist they may well try to save the bumper for you by warming it up and pressing it out. However, most repair shops would be inclined to simply replace it

As for cost.... blimey, how long is a piece of string

Good luck

Hi all,

I went to the Toyota dealer and he referred me to a 3rd party, who look after all their crash repair work.

An inital survey showed that my air con unit is damaged and needs replacing. The radiator is slighty bent upwards but is working fine so far. The mechanic advised me to get it replaced if I go down the insurance claim route. They reckon the bumper can be heated and popped back into place but again, he recommended replacing the bumper if I claim. The black trim that is located under the bumper (sorry I don't know the correct name for it) is competely busted and needs replacing. I'm expecting a quote through today so I'll throw it up here when I get it.

I did go to another crash repair shop and they confirmed the above and estimated I might be looking at €1400 (£1250) :( !! Again I'm waiting for their quote to come through.

I got another guy to see this evening as well.

I'll let you all know how I go.

Cheers

S
