It worked out 32 installments of 10.50 for me to cover my 3 services required for 3 years.

Is it reasonable?

I'm going to pick up my Aygo Blue next Mon. Aha, can't wait for it....

Seems reasonable to me, as a "normal" service can vary between £100 and £200 from what I've read here...

Seems like a good deal, go for it.... Jan is correct when he gives the prices of normal Aygo service costs

Cool! Thanks guys. I'll take my blue back home with the service pack then on Monday!

That does sound like a good deal. However, I would clarify if this is a Toyota GB Service Plan or one that ties you to a dealer for servicing. Clearly a Dealer only is risky as the Dealer Group may simply disappear ...

I opted for a full 5 year/50K mile Service Pack, backed by Toyota GB, for circa. £500 - which is excellent VFM especially when you consider that the cost of the first two MOTs (provided they are conducted by Toyota main dealer) are included in this cost.

I asked the dealer and they told me is UK not tied to one dealer. I'll see the paper before I pay for it ^^

Yup two MOTs would cost over 100 already! That's good value.

Hi Guys,

My car is coming up for the 20,000 service. I called a local garage for a price and was told that it was £199 and that was only until on a special discount until the end of December. I am havin a concern with the exhaust though it sounds like there's a great hole in it, and it seems to be knocking off the chasis when I'm driving - I was just wondering has anyone here had an exhaust fault in your car? Mine is just over 3 years old but there isn't even 20,000 miles on it quite yet and it seems odd to me.

Grateful for any help!

You'll pay 336 pounds.

Separately, I'll pay 333 pounds.

My exhaust split at 2.5 year old and 30,000 miles. It wasn't rusted but was stress fractured. The pipe from the manifold going into the silencer had fractured at the weld. Toyota dealer replaced it without quibble. How far out of the 3 year warranty are you? Might be worth having a moan at Toyota customer services.

Servicing costs vary wildly depending on what part of the country you are in.... it is great that you can get 3 services for that amount but I suggest that it is not the norm

Servicing costs vary even at the same garage! My Blue was due for it's second service last week, and we were initially quoted a wallet-crunching £237 :o

This was quickly reduced to £199 when I suggested I shopped around, and following a chat to the service manager a far more palatable £143 inclusive :)

The replacement tyre and wiper added another £70 to the bill, but the water-pump and alternator were warranty items, so all-in I think I got a great deal! B)

333 for 3 services?

Yes - my local Toyota dealer has quoted as follows:

12 months or 10,000 miles 89 pounds

24 months or 20,000 miles 165 pounds

36 months or 30,000 miles 79 pounds

48 months or 40,000 miles 149 pounds

60 months or 50,000 miles 69 pounds

You'll notice that it reduces after three years - that's because they know that we

tend to go elsewhere for servicing when the toyota warranty expires.

By my maths, all that adds up to circa £550

...and then you add the cost of x2 MOTs to that (£50 ea.) because the 5 year Toyota Servicing Pack includes this cost and you reach a figure of £650. And what about stuff like the cost of brake fluid change (2 yearly)? Then that £650 starts to look even more expensive...

I know that the Service Pack I have (5 Yr/50K) not only includes the x2 MOTs but also INCLUDES ancillaries, like the brake fluid. So at £520, paid upfront in advance and in one go, I think its very good VFM!

I won't have an Aygo over three years old and I certainly won't pay Toyota

79 quid just to change my oil.

a bit off-topic: your average fuel efficiency logo looks great...

Hi you may find that when you come to get your car serviced NOT all the stuff on the Toyota service sheet is done as your £10 policy wont cover it and you may be asked to pay a bit more to get all the stuff done as was I( Brakefluid change comes to mind ) So I surgest that you find out just what you are going to get for your money beforehand . I am on my second car and have not taken out the service plan this time.

Having said that the service plan dose spread the cost and makes it easy to pay

I would suggest mate that you have been 'had' - the Service Plan MUST pay for ALL routine servicing as listed on the schedule...otherwise there is no point to it. Firstly you have to read the 'small print' and understand what you are paying for and which type of service plan. Then secondly, should your Dealer 'try it on' you can stand your ground.

I know that my plan covers everything that Toyota suggest needs changing as part of routine servicing.

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi there, I got a quote for my 40k service from my local Toyota garage. £349!!! she tried to give excuses why it might seem high, brake fluid flush and all the filters done. My local garage quoted £148, hence I won't be using Toyota. Also, the 30k service is just a visual check, they don't change oil in the interim services for diesels.

Blimey that is damn expensive. My daughter just had the second service done on her Aygo, which did include the brake fluid change, and she was charged less than £200 :)
