The MKIII was sold in the UK by Toyota... not a grey market item. ;)

I am incorrect:

"The UK didn't get an official import until the fourth generation. The twin-turbo was very high spec with a leather interior, cruise control and active spoiler. It also had a large air intake in the middle of the bonnet and headlamp washers which helped distinguish it from imports. This Supra was the brainchild of Isao Tsuzuki, the man behind the first two generations of Toyota MR2. British cars could do 0-60mph in just 5.8 seconds and went on to hit the engine limiter at 155mph. With the limiter removed, the car showed more like 170mph. A true Supra car no less. "

EDIT: Well, not one of Toyota's finest moments... definitely not one of their worst either... read below.

That is WRONG.

Both MA-61 Celica supras, and MA-70 Supras were both officially sold in the uk, via the main dealer network.

That just about sums up Toyota these days, can't even get their own model history right, they seem more interested in peddling mundane mid-sized cars, cars for pseudo environmentalists and sub standard leaking compact hatchbacks.

The "supra turbo" link in my signature is an official UK car. Although all in all the imports are a better but as they tend to have considerably less corrosion and a better range of factory options.

This information is readily available by a quick Google search, it might be worth doing that next time as opposed to whining about not getting an answer.

Thank you, sir. I couldn't figure it out in my head. I was talking to a UK owner about certain differences between the USDM MKIII and his UKDM on another site a couple weeks ago. I hadn't ever heard that they weren't an official release; then I read that on Toyota's website and got a little dizzy. Ugh...

I love the fact that even Toyota GB themselves dont know anything about the supra. On the uk website it says that only the mk4 was ever officially sold in the uk when infact the mk2, mk3 and mk4 were officially sold in the uk. It was only the mk1 was never sold in the uk.
