Mercedes 300 SL, not the resultant lard box, the original and best. Bit pricey though :(

'47 Chevy step side pickup, Roof chopped and rodded ;)

'59 Caddy Coupe de vile, blood red ;) (Utter rubbish I know, but there is something great about 50s American cars)

Celica RA-28,

Customised proper beetle (air cooled)

Then getting a bit newer,

80s M6, (I miss my old 635 CSi)

An E30 M3, built for homologation, not marketing.

A 190E Evo II Merc

Lancia Delta Integrale Evo

Golf Rallye

I also fancy something oldschool, small light and RWD for a sily project, like a rotory powered Chevette or Mk1 Escort....

Ferrari F40 if i'm being silly

Always had a soft spot for the ford sierra RS500.

Not really a big fan of old cars though, just too impractical and fragile these days. A car is for driving, not looking at imo.

Err ... hang on! :o

This is 'Credit Crunch Great Britain' - No one can afford a new car (or anything under 10 year old) so ... .. for me I've got my 'Old-skool rides' - but to me they are more a necessity of transport, either them or you walk!

At the end of the day 'you run an old car 'cause new cars in Britain are just waaayyyyy to expensive to buy!'.

Are you some kind of wimp! and millionare? ... most of us HAVE TO RUN AN OLD CAR! ...IT'S ALL WE CAN AFFORD!

You want to get your backside over to places like Russia, where they manage to still run a 60'S and 70'S carS as everyday transport. - i.e. Motoring in the REAL WORLD!

;)

Good Grief!

(Infact at the garage I work at I have to keep a Golf Rallye 'patched up' - say's me as I brush the welding sparks of my overalls from patching up his rear section that joins the sills - who says VW's dont' rust/rot  !)

I didn't start this topic to discuss whether or not certain cars are old or new. People have different judgements of old-skool. Let them have it. ;)

My apologies!

I did not wish to cause offense, more a point in making the fact i'm an 'old coger'!

I would like to stress that I do infact like every car mentioned here so far!

What it is that annoys me is the fact that this is a 'car forum' yet the majority of members seem to run 'modern tin'. To me a 'car site' should be all about 'patching a car up and keeping it running!' - in fact exactly what you are doing sir; to which you have my full compliments!

ah o.k. no problem. My misinterpretation there. :)

I see what you mean about the modern tin, but rollaclub.com is full of KE models that are being patched up. I do enjoy sharing your view upon motoring and using old cars to do so, I son't want anything dull like a Golf (my opinion on it, like it or lump it) I love my GTi ! :D
