Iq Roof Rack

Hi Everyone

After about a year of being an admirer, I'm hoping to buy an iQ2 in March. But I would want to fit a Roof Rack occasionally for the odd holiday trip as the iQ would be my only car. I notice a well known Swedish company makes one for the iQ, but I'm wondering whether the Toyota warranty would be invalidated if installed? Has anyone noticed anything in the owners manual about roof loads? Can't seem to get an answer from a local dealer - any help would be appreciated.

sorry to tell you but there is NO way for a Roof Rack!

No hat, no cap, no towing for the iQ.

ZERO LOAD on the top!

Thanks LA-LA. Thats a real shame - I might have to stick with the trusty Aygo. Did you get this info from the owners manual or from your local Toyota rep?

in France :D , we don't have any limitation on roof load

nothing written on the "certificat d'immatriculation" (registration certificat)

don't put thinks on the roof (surfboards, cycles,...) your ESP will be out of control!

Lala, I'll try to explain better :

on french registration papers, there is no mention of limitation of permissible roof load.

it's not written limitationor permissible... and nothing after (equal 0 as you say)

Mr T says that the Thule "Not a towball" fitting, can be fitted and does not affect the IQ warranty

Ive seen an IQ near me driving around with 2 roof bars and a roof box fitted.

Thule, they're like the carrying solutions equivalent of the Swiss Army Knife, and they seem to have a solution for everything. This reminds me of what Peter (Sweet Dentist) has done with his iQ, well, lets say 'one' of the things.

Yeah, it actually looks very good with it too, and as you say, it looks like an original fitted part. Maybe try finding out where this guy got his. He must have an e-mail or web address...

The iQ in the video clearly has no Roof Rack fitted or Cross Bars,

It does have 'Roof Rails' fitted tho,

which clearly anyone else could do if they made the choice to.

Bolt securely through the roof, use spreader plates and seal the holes/mounts.

Some Fabrication to mount Roof Rails safely, then what you fit to those be it cross bars, a tray or a box is up to you.

(no weight limit given for the roof carrying so up to the Driver how he/she considers/deals with the Insurance or 'Use And Construction'

for the vehicle.)
