Rev Counter From Aygo '05, Fits On New Aygo?

Hi all!

I searched the forum but coulden't find an answer to my question.

which is the following:

After reading up on the 'how to fit a rev-counter yourself' thread, I decided that

I wanted one for my new toyota aygo (base version).

Now there's a junkyard that happens to sell a rev-counter from a 2005 aygo.

What I'm wondering is: is this rev-counter compatible with my new aygo?

(or hasn't the model changed mutch over 4 years??)

The part nr. is 832700H010 , according to the junkyard.

Of course, before I get it, i'll check if the metal bracket is still on the rev counter,

and if they have an extra plastic top-plate thingie with the fitting hole for the rev counter.

(i know it's possible to cut the hole yourself, but if i can get an original part from the junker i preferr that)

Any thoughts?

p.s. I'm based in holland, so maybe the part nr. differs from the UK one??

Kind regards!

I think the UK unit(and keys) will be on the other side of the steering wheel than the rest of the EU so fitting might be a problem and the UK cover probably wont fit your car.

I noticed on the Toyota website that they have lowered the price of the rev counter to a more reasonable level now, but still not as cheap as a junkyard.

Sure it will fit. And if you're not sure, why not take the plastic cap off, drive to the yunk yard and try it before you buy? It fits on so easily that it shouldn't take you more than a minute to try it on.

Don't see why it wouldn't - for that money I'd give a go!

ALL Aygo's have the same form factor speedometer and will accept both LHD and RHD tachometers.

You can even fit two at once and of you split the existing wiring into two, both can work at the same time:

Please wait a few seconds for Video to load!

And te revcounter has NOT changed between the facelifted cars, so you can fit an older one on a new car...

Toyota UK website www.toyota.co.uk

Click Menu - Ownership - Accessories

It's now £150 incl VAT and fitting, they were about £125 from Peugeot 18 months ago without fitting.

Some of the prices are still a joke though, £300 for a bluetooth kit to be fitted when you can buy an aftermarket stereo with bluetooth easily for half that.

IIRC I paid circa £135 all inc. (cowl, tacho, nut, bolt) from PUG about 7 months ago. I'll see if I ave the receipt and post it up for you if like?
