Hello all

My mate is thinking of buying a 2004 1.8 automatic with around 55k on the clock , is there anything he should be looking out for and is there any common problems with this model and the autobox, how regular should the auto be srevice?

thanks for your help in advance

To 9BarStrata.

I would be inclined to avoid the 1.8vvti, as it would appear to be 50/50 if you end up with an oil burner. Auto box is juicy on the petrol, as for servicing box the odd oil change will do it no harm. Not alot to go wrong underneath, just Fr/Re suspension joints & links due to crap roads. Wait for more postings, as i'm sure you will have plenty people driving this model with no problems.

Regards, Beagh.

Tell him to get a 2.4 Camry auto instead. Just as economical in practice, made in Japan, more spec and they don't burn oil!
