Which Diesel Engine Have I Got?

I have just bought a second hand 58 reg Corolla Verso 2.2 SR D-4D. I thought my engine is just called D-4D but when I read the manual, it mentioned three different Diesel engines:

2AD-FTV (without DPF catalytic converter)

2AD-FTV (with DPF catalytic converter)

2AD-FHV

How do I know which one have I got?

I then discovered another 'Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions figures' sheet, it further mentions two different configuration:

Verso 2.2 D-4D 140 6-speed man

Verso 2.2 D-4D 180 6-speed Man

How do I know which one have I got?

I wish the manual could be clearer...

Can anyone help?

The engine number in your car should be on the VIN plate along with the paint code and other info. This wiki entry explains how Toyota make up the engine code http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Toyota_engines

1

engine types and codes as follows.

1AD-FTV = 2.0ltr

2AD-FTV = 2.2ltr (140) ===== your model.

2AD-FHV= 2.2ltr (180) (T180 models only)

How do I know whether mine is with or without DPF catalytic converter?

Thanks.

The easiest way to find out the full production line spec of your car is to give the VIN number to a Toyota dealer, they should be able to tap in to the Toyota database and find out when the car came off the production line, the full build spec and any non standard options that were fitted.

Its usually the T180 models (should say D-CAT on car wings instead of D4-D) That have DPF catalysts, cheers.
