I did them myself i do loads of spraying so gotten good at it over the amount of time but its really easy anyway TBH.

On my wheels i only used Halfords paint (white primer) and loads of lacquer i had the jet wash on them today and no paint came off so guess that fine.

Theres no harm in trying it yourself first mate i didn't even do much prep on them.

Steps i did was

1. Clean dirt off

2. Sand to a goodish key for primer to stick nicely

3. Tack cloth/whitesprit to clean. I like tack cloth as i don't need to dry all the residue off like you do with whitesprit.

4. Mask off tyre

5. Spray primer 1 large Halfords can for two wheels (This is what i used)

6. Wait to dry then apply colour (I didn't do this as i used the white primer as my colour so was no need)

But if you are doing so leave for about an hour for the primer to get touch dry

7. Give colour about 2-3 hours to dry

8. Start lightly applying lacquer from a far distance say around 30" to give a very sticky coat

9. Keep applying lacquer till you get a nice smooth coat leaving about 20min from each coat

10. Leave to dry over night or longer in a nice warm room.

Hope that helps a little.
