Speedo On Mr2 Turbo Mk 2

hi sorry if this is in the wrong place

on my mk 2 turbo the speedo does not work this is my first mr2 so just after a little help i have read about a nylon cog wearing out being the cause ?

i have looked down the engine and i can see a yellow wire pink or red and black just hangging down would this be any thing to do with my speedo???

Yes the nylon gear on the sensor is one thing and is the easiest... its an easy change except for the fact its seized inside there... Takes a lil bit of work. This helped me a little while i was changing mine... i didnt follow step by step... but helped. Youll also see where the wires for it are located.

Same thing happened to me... I changed the nylon gear and put it in... 3 days later... same thing happened. Ive done research on this and found something online where someone said its the gear inside the transmission that was stripped, which would mean opening the tranny... Cheap Part, lots of labor.. Ive just learned to live without it.
