Hi...Everyone

i had a 2002 toyota X Estima T

89000 mile

its throwing the P1346 code

Engine management light

Code P1346 indicates a VVT issue

it showed on the toyata manual:

VVT Sensor/Camshaft Postion Sensor Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1)

Problem areas could be jumping teeth on the cam or a stretched timing chain

now let me explain...

iv gone to more than 5 mechanics ......

they only want money and when you ask what the problem is...

they say we dont know or we cant do anything about it.

i did change the vvt sensor from a toyota dealer...

and the engine management light is still on after being cleared

by the mechanic... i also changed the spark plugs...

and the air filter...and the oil. and still the same problem

the problem is the light is still on and 12.7 mpg in the town

and 19.3 mpg on the highway

can you please tell me what to do??

thanks

ps..im sick n tired going to the mechanics and spending

money for nothing.....!!!! ///////// can you tell me what you think is the

Problem ??

jumping teeth on the cam ?

or a stretched timing chain ?

have to do with the Fuel consumption??

everybody knows that the fuel consumption

for toyota estima or previa 2002 engine 2.4

is 19 mpg in town...and 26-30 mpg on highways

now the problem when i asked the mechanic all of them...

when you open the engine can you tell if the chain or cam shaft

is stretched...and then they say no we cant tell .......

so my question to you is:

can we depend on the engine management light...telling us the truth or not???

I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO??

BY THE WAY THE CAR IS RUNNING FINE, WITH NO SMOKE... BESIDE I

TOLD THE MECHANIC THAT IT MIGHT BE THE OXYGEN SENSOR....

AND HE SAID THAT IT IS FINE ON THE COMPUTER.

My ThanKs FoR YouR HelP!!!
