Centre Fan Not Working

I've noticed recently, as the weather's getting hotter, that my centre fan no longer works.

I remember that it comes on when on the head setting. But, nothing happens, even on stage 4.

Also, don't know if this is related, but when I'm going over 58mph, if i've got the windows down, i can hear a high-pitched screech coming from the engine. It's not terribly loud and I can only hear it with the windows down.

I have A/C and turning it on makes no difference to this sound.

Wonder if that screeching is fan belt related in some way? As its not driving the compressor - you're not getting any A/C? But that wouldn't necessarily explain why you wouldn't get the fan working. Check a fuse maybe?

Sounds like an easy one : centre flap is stuck closed. When you open your window air is forced around it causing a high pitched noise. Get it to a mechanic or Mr T if it's bugging you

Well you were right about the wind noise. :) Thanks, can't believe I didn't think about that.

But how would I go about opening the centre flap?

Now you've mentioned it I've noticed that there isn't a massive clunk anymore when I switch to head mode.
