Jammed Cd Player

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

My 6 disc CD player has jammed, so it won't eject any of the discs stuck inside.

Does anybody know if it's an easy job to get access to and fix the cd player or should I take it to a dealership?

Thanks

Welcome to the club.

You won't get them out without pulling it apart but in any case that would invalidate the warranty so contact a dealer and let them sort it out.

Thanks.

Just rang the dealership and they said that because the stuck discs are CD-R's it might not be covered under the warranty. Which I find a little odd seeing the unit is designed to play mp3s from a CD-R.

Anyway taking it in next week for them to have a look, however if it isn't covered then they said it'll be £1000 for a new CD player!

wots that catchy wee tune just now?? webuyanycar etc???

I'd try an in-car audio specialist before paying £1000. For that price you could hire a musician to sit in the boot!

There is a great long list of playable formats in the handbook. Tell them to get their finger out and fix it rather than come up with inane statements. Do CD-Rs stick more than a conventional CD?

I know, it states it plays them in the manual so there shouldn't be an issue. I'll see what they say on Tuesday.
