Rav4.1 Tyre Pressure

We have a RAV4.1 with 235/60/16 tyres. The Owners Manual says correct tyre pressure for normal payload is 1.7 bar, 25psi. That's what I've kept them at. Although the tyres look ok and the RAV drives fine at that pressure, I've often thought 25psi is low. For the sake of tyre life, should I be upping it or am I doing right as the Manual says?

Do what it says in the manual or you will ruin them.

25 is the right pressure. The 4.1 RAV is quite a light machine and if you increase the tyre pressure you run the risk of it going off road when you least expect.

Must admit, I do run a bit higher, 27psi in winter and 29/30psi in summer, think the label on the door says 27psi but that could be due to the tyre size fitted 225/55/17.

I did try 32psi once but as above, lost all feeling of contact with the road and way too light on the steering.

25psi seems right for the traditional size of tyre you have.
