Cover Underneath Lower Glovebox.

Hi all

I know there is a lot of complaints about interior rattles in the Auris. Mine is not too bad (07 car). The worst area is the passenger side footwell, either from the lower glovebox or the black cover that covers the interior fusebox location and various wiring looms. This cover just does not seem to be a positive fit to the lower dash and I think contributes to vibrations and rattles, does anyone have any ideas on how to make this cover more secure on it's fixings?, besides removing it altogether?

Just a tip I have used on all cars for smaller panels etc use the soft portion of Velcro sticky tape the ones without the hooks, it makes a fantastic rattle dampner.

All my cars from Audi,VW & Citroen have all rattled & groaned to some degree, it's I think an unachievable goal to get a completely rattle free car.

See my topic 'One Cure for Rattle on Dash' it may help with ideas on securing the panel. I have noticed that the panel does not seem to have enough fittings and occasionally it does seem to flap about.

My car is not bad with rattles neither but the forum posts suggest that there is no particular place that fixing it will stop all the noises. People complain about rattles from dash, pillars- all, glove box, radio area...generally all over the cabin.

My advice is to keep going back to the dealer. I've been back a few times and although not perfect, the situation is a million times better than what we started with. The dealer has actually been very good about it and attached felt pads to almost the entire dashboard area, etc! Not sure there's much more they can do, just a slight vibration from air vent which I'm prepared to live with.

Hope this helps.
