Which Celica?

I love the look of the GT4 style Celicas but I also like the look of the the latest model.

Just having a quick look through these forums, it seems like there have been 7 generations of the Celica models so I'm confused as to exactly which model variant is which.

Does anyone know any resources which help clarify which generation is which?

All gt4's except the gen 7 which to be honest isn't my cup of tea. If i remember correctly i think the gen 7 pre facelift model with 140bhp is a definite no to buy as it had major problems with the engine using serious amounts of oil so steer clear.

I could direct you to an excellent website but this club dont like other clubs URL's given out.

So you need to search the net for a Celica Club based in the UK.

Is there a reason why you can't answer this members question on here Bryan?

The poster above my first comment, has given photo ID's of the latest 4 Gens.

So no need to describe what they look like.

As for answering the OP question.

Here goes.

Do you like a Classic look?

Or the Modern look?

Are running costs important?

Is insurance costs an issue? No point reccomending a 250-400 BHp GT4 when you're on a tight budget.

Give us more feedback and we'll give you more of an idea, what you can afford and the issues with each Gen.

I love my Gen 7 VVTL-i 190 bhp tiptronic automatic. Sporty with fast poke above 6000 rpm with its cam lift feature. Think its the T-Sport or something. Was never sure. Its an import.
