Not Happy My Iq3 Has Broken Down

My wife was driving our IQ3 today and had to call out the AA as she broke down the fault was traced to a faulty fuel gauge as it was showing over 1/4 tank but had ran out of fuel,I'm not impressed as we bought this car as it was supposed to be reliable the AA chap said it was the second one that he had seen this week has anybody else been stranded due to this fault and what did Toyota do to fix it? :(
