Fuel Consumption

Hi,

I have a 2000 Corolla VVTI automatic - Arround town I get 31 mpg but on a 100 mile run doing an average of 60mph I only got 30, is this normal and if not what should I get and what is possibly the fault.

How have you checked it? Did you fill to the brim, do the run then fill to the brim?

Even if you filled to the brim, that can fluctuate by a couple of litres if you let the pump cut out by itself.

100 miles is not really enough miles to you need to do 2 or 3 tank fulls.

I have filled it to the brim on both occasions and the consumption at a steady 60mph is 30mpg.

What is the possible fault?
