Cam Belt

Hi folks

regarding the cam belt on the 4.2 rav, my hand book only states that a change is due at 60k however when i had it serviced at mr T the service schedule states that a change is due at 6 yrs or 60 k.

The reason for this post is that i have read on this forum that it is 5 yrs or 60k

ok point taken but that doesn't state rav4 the shedule that i have says rav 4 d4d

I haven't got that book but this info generally assumes a vehicle will cover up to 12000 miles a year. At the end of the day its up to you but a broken belt will cause a huge amount of damage. It may well do 7 years or 84k but they err towards caution.
