I've managed to get about 50miles after the light came on

But remember it all depends on how drive after it comes on.

Usually reckon on having just over a gallon left when light comes on so depends how you drive, 30 - 50 should be possible though.

I've done about 40 miles on my fuel light.... the needle was below the last point on the gauge when i eventually panicked enough to stop and fill up!
