New Member Hello

Hi there,

I'm Roiboy, Welsh [and proud of it],disabled for 12 years now [chronic osteo arthritis], married, 7 daughters and 3 siberian huskies.

I have had my diesel Carina 2 for 12 years and she's 20 next year. Best car I have ever had. So far I've replaced tyres, 1 set of brake shoes, 1 exhaust [@18 years], 1 radiator [@19 years] and 1 alternator [@15 years].

She has done 140 thousand trouble free miles and returned a frightening MPG between 9 miles to the litre round town and 12 on a run. One trip from here in north Wales to Milton Keynes down the A5 I used 27 litres to get there AND BACK. I suspect I had a good wind behind me both ways. she is comfortable [even with the arthritis] and has taken me to many countries and has only been brought home once on a transporter[2 punctures in 1 day, a saturday on a bank holiday weekend with the 2nd one being late afternoon / early evening]

She is still looking good and has only minor cosmetic problems and an overheating problem that has been puzzling me [and several mechanics] for 3-4 years which, thanks to this forum, I might finally have found the answer to.

I also have a town ace [only for 1 year] which I am coming to love as much as the Carina [especially with 3 huskies in the back, they're a bit cramped in the Carina- i have one back seat down permanently for them].

I am also the proud owner of 3, yes three, Bedford CF motorhomes & a rare Bedford CF2 'Mountain' ambulance for conversion to camper.
