Corolla Diesel Filter Draining

Hi folks,

Can anyone tell me the location of the diesel fuel filter on a D4D T3? On my Honda it is on the bulkhead but someone said the Corolla filter is under the back seat!!

Any one know what it costs to have it renewed? I have just contacted the dealer who did the servicing before we bought it and they say the filter was checked but not replaced at 40 K. Car is now on 65 K and I guess the filter will need the build up of water removing before the warning light appears or even a new filter.

the fuel filter? ok without pictures i'll try my best to explain. with open bonnet and you standing in the middle if u go right to the back of the engine bay right to the back wall and then move along right about 8 inches you'll see a cylinder which is roughly the height of 2 soft drink cans and slightly larger in diameter thats the fuel filter. easy as pie to remove and replacing it isnt going to cost the earth. i change mine every other service which is roughly 20,000...

i dont understand what the 'build up of water' is but if its been 25,000 miles personally i would change the fuel filter. whoever said it was under the rear seat was most probably referring to the fuel PUMP rather than fuel filter...with regard to cost i always advocate buying the part from toyota themselves and then having a jap specialist/local reputable independant garage fit it...saves muchos pounds on labour...hope this helps :)

I don`t doubt its possible to be some form of gauze/srainer in the tank but the fuel filter is a service item so has to be relatively accessable :)

I've only owned one diesel car in my life and that put me off, VW Golf anniversary, it must have been the friday afternoon car.

Yeah it happens, had nothing but trouble in 1976 with a new Japanese 750 motorbike and swore I`d not buy by another.

omg those (assuming it was mark 4) are beautiful cars mate! they remap to 180bhp ish and with a few other relatively inexpensive items can push 200bhp and still return silly mpgs, not to add imo they look quite nice...but anyhow each to their own. personally id love to own a mk 4 anniversary tdi but insurance is too much for my and theyre old now with high mileages...
