Aircon Gas?

Recommended Posts

My aircon needs regassing so is it just a case of buying a tin off the bloke on Ebay and putting it via the valve?

Thanx.

My local Mr.T is doing a full recharge and check / service for £45.00, during which the correct amount and type of Oil is also added, which they inform me is crucial to the lubrication and long life of air con seals and gaskets.

They may be pulling my chain, but I think not, and I have read some horror stories on here and Rav4 sites re. expensive air con repairs. More importantly, part of the service is to check for leaks and rectify. If you buy from ebay, and it starts hissing back out again, where to?

I hear a lot of people saying they bought a can of gas and put it in, but there is a lot more to an A/C service than gassing it up

As Big_Kevamundo says, when done correctly, the gas in your system will be removed, captured, Oil replenished in the system and the CORRECT amount of gas will be put back in. If you can get a proper A/C service done, including the gas and Oil for £45 then go for it

I agree with your other replies. Get it serviced properly but shop around the dealers. My local Mr T is offering the service for £39.99
