Yaris Multimode

hi folks

today i had my rav4 in for a service.

and got given for coursesy car,a yaris with multi mode transmission,flappy paddles or auto box for selection.

first time ive driven a auto...ever,i was pleasantly curious as to how it drove,got given a very short lesson at dealership,seemed easy enough,E for forward or R for reverse

my goodness.....sorry if this sounds bad,but what a horrible drive it was,lurching through gears in auto box,it could'nt decide what gear to select half the time at junctions.

or i had to drive it very slowly to allow it time to make gear decisions,hopeless if you need a quick getaway on a mojor road junction.

it only had 95 miles on the clock,10 reg,and i could'nt figure out how to select reverse with the flappy paddles,so had to keep to auto with either 'R' or 'E' selected

i showed my mum who drives a 07 yaris,she would'nt get in it...didnt trust it

quite dissapointed. :(
