i beleave all modern diesels have a duel mass flywheels (dmf).

its not a clutch,but the flywheel is in two parts inner and out, the inner one is controled by springs this is the weak point of the design.

put duel mass flywheel into your search engine and it will be explained better than i can, there is a vidio on there showing how it works.
