Did it have a red silencer and a chrome tail pipe? If so it's a cherry bomb. Steer clear from these they are really loud and sound crap and would only properly last about a year.

so how much are the good ones and what makes are there for the CDX,

how easy is it to fit one usisg the haynes spanner guide

Haynes: One spanner rating (simple).

Translation: Your Mum could do this... so how did you manage to botch it up?

Haynes: Two spanner rating.

Translation: Now you may think that you can do this because two is a low, tiny, ikkle number... but you also thought that the wiring diagram was a map of the Tokyo underground (in fact that would have been more use to you).

Haynes: Three spanner rating (intermediate).

Translation: Make sure you won't need your car for a couple of days and that your AA cover includes Home Start.

Translation: But Novas are easy to maintain right... right? So you think three Nova spanners has got to be like a 'regular car' two spanner job.

Haynes: Four spanner rating.

Translation: You are seriously considering this aren't you, you pleb!

Haynes: Five spanner rating (expert).

Translation: OK - but don't expect us to ride it afterwards!!!

Translation #2: Don't ever carry your loved ones in it again and don't mention it to your insurance company.

yes thats a rage back box dont get the led version, also check out the slash cut black chrome one its very jap and looks awesome should be about the same price as the red one, fitting normally means sacrificing your standard back box easy to fit tho, i had a new flange and pipe made so i have a standard back box spare,

Rage are actually very underated, they make some fantastic rear boxes and very stylish and good quality not to mention they are sale of the century

but they fall down on the daft led tailpipes! and youll need a zorst fitter to make up a pipe and bolt it on

just use a normal tail pipe

zorst fitter - go to top gear or powerflow dealer and have it fitted

I dont like telling people what to do, but I agree with Jaxx, go for a normal tail pipe.

I saw the Led'd one on a civic, un-lit it looked pooh, oh and lit up it looked pooh too!

Ur supposed to connect it up to ur brake light.

I want this badboy! Ooooooo

is carbon better and why?

I dont think carbon fibre is better its down to one's choice at the end of the day. More popular is stainless steel as it will last the life time of your car they say!! And it shouldn't rust

only decent stainless steel has the lifetime warranty (as in as long as you own the car), some cheaper steels don't, i've seen them with 2 years!!! and it wasn't mild steel.

My backbox on my car cost me £370, miss tsports on her yaris was around the 300 mark as well. although i'm sure you can get cheaper ones that will last as long, its not worth paying for one and then in 6 months having to chagne it cos its got a !Removed! bit rotten hole in it.

I had a peco on my escort once, 2 year warranty, rusted to bits in 18mths, and it was £100 which was loads ofr me then. So be wary, and shop around.

Has anyone heard if the Sebring backbox for the Yaris T-Sport is any good? <_<

I'm thinking of buying it, altogether with fitting its about 200 notes......I think it comes with a lifetime warrenty aswell

from personal experience i think its best to stick with jap, even if it means saving for a little longer. Although the RAGE as jap, i think, from what ive' seen they look !Removed! good, sounds good and are well priced. I've not seen any Sebring though.

Jerry,

Can you give me a couple of tips on how to fit it, what tools i need etc?? It would be appreciated...

Nash

Basically a ring spanner. Cant remember the size a can of wd40 to spray over the exhaust rubber bushes. So you can take the old exhaust off easier + a flat screw driver to prise rubber bushes off and some exhaust paste to seal the exhaust when you fit the new one mate. And not forgetting a jack. Easy as that
