Where To Buy Wheel Bearing?

Just MOT'd my 4.2 and after the boat loads of work I have done, the test station picked up on my o/s rear wheel bearing being past its best and requiring replacement. Anyone any ideas where I can get one as I have done a quick search that didn't yield much and my mechanic is saying he has had a silly quote of £160 + vat! :censor:

I know these cannot be that expensive so anybody any ideas???

I think they come complete with the hub. Kingo might be a good starting point. You could always try Bearing Services providing you can get them out.

I had the same...

and found all that needed done was the rear axle thingy nut needed torqued up to the proper setting. Job done!!!!! And its being doing quarter miles safely ever since. I assume the 4.2 runs the same set up at the rear to the 4.1. Wouldn't cost anything to check the nut.

In 180k miles, never had to replace the rear bearings... front yes....rear - no.

I would think so if its the same sort of era and it has the same brakes.

Yeah, you just need to make sure they both have rear disc brakes.
