Gearbox Fault

wondered if anyone can help,i have a 1999 rav 4.

when engine is off i can select all gears fine.

with engine running i have to force the gearlever to select a gear

when driving i can select gears quite easily & smoothly,

i have had the oil in the g/box changed but nothing has changed.

have noticed that the g/ghange is ok even at 2 or 3 mph fault only presesnt when stopped.

any advice will be most welcome. many thanks

I'm afraid your clutch isn't clearing properly. You might have some success with bleading it bit if not you will need to have a new one fitted.

the clutches on the early RAvs lasted about 60-80k miles.

just got car back after having a new clutch & clutch bleed

car still has the same problem, may be a nats better may just be me hoping.

will try on the road for a few days & hope it improves

the mechanic said it may be worn syncro hubs.

he seems to remember other 4s with this fault.

I doubt it. You wouldn't get clean changes when driving along.

this gearbox is bomb proof so unless its been hit by a bomb...

what mileage is on the car??

hi,the milage is 107,000.

when the old clutch came out mechanic said it was approx 90% worn, flywheel looked ok, no signs of slipping no cracks.
