Got the ROTA Cntre Caps delivered today and we'll fit them up to the front. They've been missing since she arrived. :D

Looks fanatstic. Mine is also sunburst red, at least I know what mine could look like if I can get the time to invest on the polishing.

From some angles the fl t sport looks amazing!

Cheers mate, it's a fairly rare colour!

Yeh it's a handsome car.

General Update; we have a new idea for the engine cover, so Tim, you CF is safe for a while longer! ;)

I honestly couldn't tell you mate. The 4A-GE is where my knowledge lies. I've never heard of it having any problems with it though so you should be fine.

IIRC it's also known as EGR.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation. EGR Valves are actually terrible things as they break easily which can seriously damage the engine. Basically it puts some exhaust gas back into the cylinder as it cannot be combusted, this keeps the engine temperatures down, thus reducing the amount of NOX compounds produced, and increasing the CO2

I would remove it but I am unsure if the ECU will give you jip for doing that.

You fitting it to the GTI then?

No, I am fitting it to the CTS but my knowledge base isn't as great as it is with the GTi. ;)

Got the tank fitted now but not the connections..... not sure which pipe to jack.

There is one on the Throttle Body, and one on the Intake Manifold...

I've found where they all need to go, but the hoses are too small for the larger end and too large for the small end. :censor:

And none of the Jubilee Clips fit over the hoses..... :censor:

Got a snap of the Tank and Centre Caps fitted.

Tomorrow I'll cut the hoses to size and get the right size Jubilee clips. Then I'll order in a reducer for it to fit at the Tanks end.

Bit annoying but hey, we got it cheap! :P

Other plans are to paint the Intake Manifold in Matt Black and get a black Battery cover.

We will also be lowering the front by a further 5mm...

love it! how did you spray the manifold just leave it on the car?

I was going to get my one shot blasted and coated in ceramic coating on the outside

Thanks mate!

Yeh we used a load of unused decorating paper to mask off the bay.

Took off the cover ---> shoved some sheets to cover the fan and front apron, masking taped onto the bumper ---> Shoved some to cover brake lines and fender ---> other sheets covered the K&N and Alternator etc Was really easy tbh.

Sprayed on brilliantly and dried within 30 seconds. Baked it for 10 minutes and it was perfect. :D

Easy and hassle free.

My dad got to painting the alternator carefully, we are waiting for tomorrow to give us the results :D
