Part Missing From Steering Wheel?

I've only had my rolla T-sport 2001 model for a couple of weeks and yesterday i noticed a bit missing! ha.

on the left hand side of the steering wheel in front of the indicator stalk there appears to be a missing part in the black plastic and can see inside and a cable disconnected....

its hard to explain. should there be a control stalk for the stereo? if so can i buy one seperate?

if its notm what else could it be?

Yep deff stereo steering stalk controls have been removed.

You may be able to get one off a scrap motor on eBay.

Do you still have the standard h/u in?

yeah i do have the standard H/U. cant understand why anyone would have took it out.

cant see anything on eBay, do Toyota do as a spare?

anyone know if these are specific to Corolla T-Sports or will any toyota one fit? cant find a corolla one but plenty of Avensis ones about

I have actually found the control stalk in the arm rest,now just can't work how to fit it. I have connected the wire and the controls work. Just can't work out how to attach it. Any help?

Should just push in with a bit of effort and it clips itself to the steering wheel.

I think it screws on to the metal part of the steering wheel if memory serves me well.

It certainly doesn't just push in,there appears to be 2 brass screws in the way on the metal part.mot sure if I have to take them out or not. Also not sure if I have to take the controls apart first to attach them.

nah im sure you have to take out the airbag to reattch them.

You don't have to remove the airbag.

What you do:

1. Unscrew the screws on the steering wheel.

2. remove the top cap on the stalk, and find two holes that the screws fit inside. The cap would just unclip.

3. attach stalk, using screws. Then fit the top cap.

as easy as that!
