2010 Corolla Mp3 Cd Skipping

So I just bought a new Corolla (my first new car) and I was excited to see that it supported mp3 cds. I went ahead and burned one and the first track or two played without flaws. After a while though certain songs started skipping a second throughout the song while other songs seemed to play perfectly fine. I'm just wondering if the problem is with the cd player itself or with the way I'm burning the cd. Any help would be appreciated.
