Front Springs, Need Help!

Hi guys, i have a 1999 toyota corolla g6r, bought some lowering springs the other day from eBay

it says on the box 1997- ( and on the website of the manufacturer it says 1997-2001

looked at the springs on my car then looked at the ones in the box and noticed that mine on the car go up straight and are the same diameter top and bottom and the lowering springs in the box are a smaller diameter at one end then the other if you know what i mean (this is hard to put into words)

is there two different types of spring??? or are corolla g6r's just different

i'm no expert on lowering springs but speaking from when friends have had their cars lowered generally the standard springs are the same diameter top to bottom whereas the lowering springs usually are tapered. don't quote me on that though.
