sorry post this is the Yaris section by mistake. :-(

Hello All, Nightmare problem, but somebody can make the result easy, I have an Avensis Verso 2.0 7 seater 02reg. Started with having the Catalyst Converter changed(straight forward??) then the Mechanic had trouble getting the Lambda sensor out (top left as as you look in.) so i went and bought another one. NTK. cleared the EM & started up, 1 min later Fault came up P1155(P1155 A/F Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank #2 Sensor #1) so had the mechanic check it again and still the same fault, so got an electrician to check and he said NO other faults found but the P1155, so ive gone out and bought another NTK, tried it.. and P1155???????????? So after browsing through the Internet and this forum, my only hope is to get an Original sensor, but to save money i would like to get it off the internet. tried some of the links in this forum for America, but they don't list the Avensis Verso, I Have a twin CAT & 4 sensors could somebody confirm that the Faulty sensor is the Top LHS as you look at the Engine? does somebody have another link/site they would use to get a sensor? the only one i have found so far is this http://www.worldcarp...&ProductID=1582 any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Ian.

also found this but not sure if its the right one?

I believe that the Bank 2 sensors are the bottom pair with #1 on the left facing the engine.

Hello Fitter,

found this.

2.0 VVT-I

Engine Code:1AZ-FSE

Info:Incl. Saloon, Estate, NOTE: Bank 2 S1 (Cyl. 2&3) Sensor located on Offside (RH Upper)

This is getting confusing??

This is the link

http://www.lambdapower.co.uk/partsearch/az2.asp?manu=Toyota

http://www.lambdapower.co.uk/partsearch/az2.asp?idlist=LP-20141

the mechanic checked the top 2, undid the RHS top as you look in the engine and the fault came up Bank2 s1. which is correct i think,But the link says RHS???

to work out which is which sensor is simple....

if you were to look down the ports of the exhaust manifold the left hand side (as you look into the ports) is bank 1.

and to the right is bank 2.

The manual refers to the RHS as viewed from the drivers seat ie the offside whereas I described looking toward the engine. Bank 2 sensors plug into sockets on RHS .

Bank 2 monitors cylinders 2 and 3 so just look at which exhaust ports join together just before the oxy sensor. Pretty sure its the top left sensor. Seen all sorts of problems with non gen sensors getting fitted. If you are unsure of which sensor, connect the diagnostic machine, look at the live data readings, if it has this function, of the oxy sensors, disconnect the suspect sensor and check the reading on the live data. If the data readings stop registering then you know you've got the right sensor disconnected.

Of all the heater circuit faults i've done, its always the sensor at fault. Fitted gen parts and never had a come back.

Thanks for the replies, will be getting a Denso Lambda sensor( which i believe are the original fittings?) today and will let you know how i get on, which are listed at £89, so fingers crossed the EM light goes out for a long time.. :-)
