Hi I have been having trouble starting my toyota avensis sr 2000 year 2000 when I put the key in ignition and turn nothing happens then after a click then after 2 or 3 turns it starts.

I have cleaned all the earth connections and the Battery is only 10 months old but I had it checked and it is ok I also took out the starting motor it seems ok so is it possible that the ignition barrel is the problem.

hello

mate

what have you done with starting motor??

it has primer control solenoid that must to give a power signal to the main motor.

if this solenoid stem is got rusted then it brakes its movement and does not close a force contacts.

check with solenoid may be the problem is there. that is why you do hear a clicks of a feeding of your solenoid only.

Cheers/Igor
