To start off with i don't know much about the 2ZZ-ge engine, however i am curious to know if any parts of the engine is FORGED? also

what degree's are the cams sitting on stock? Do 2zz have slip differntials? I am guessin the 2zz runs on high compression?

If there is anything else you know about this engine then your posts will be very helpful . Thanks

Why are you bothered what its like against a Civic Type-R? The Civic Type-R is the quicker car and is much more easily tunable if you want the quicker car you should get the Civic, personally I driven both and I much preffered the Corolla but then i'm not interested in willy waving and pub bragging rights

The pre and post have the same power, some sites claim a couple of BHP difference but in reality you will never notice it

I'm suprised no one has mentioned the suspension diffences, thicker ARB's, front strut, revised/lower suspension

Also, a back box is going to give a very slight barely noticable difference in power, buy one because you need one or want the sound and looks, buying one for a couple of BHP is a bit daft

After doing some research i prefer the corolla TS as it is more refined than the civic type r, personally i feel that the 2zz engine is more efficient than the k20, to produce 189 bhp from a 1.8 ltr where as k20 produce 7bhp more from a bigger displacemnt 2.0 doesnt justify the power of 7bhp over 200c, in my opinion i prefer the corolla TS for a few reasons, not as common, doesnt have that boy racer image, more refined, better mpg, like that fact its only ins group 14 save few quid there! Can you tell me more about the cars suspension set up please, would help if you could go into more detail thanks.

Does anyone know the parts number of the modified brakepipe on the face lift that allows space for a strut brace?

I have a pre face lift and I am considering a strut brace, either aftermarket( TRD or Sparco) or perhaps the original Face lift strut brace with the integrated damper. which brace would be the best?

also, a while back someone posted a note about a gear stick washer or something that was improved on the FL giving a much better and precise shift action. apparantly a really cheap mod. Anyone recall this?

cheers

You really won't need to fit a new pipe mate, it will be much easier to very carefully bend it out of the way. ;)

I am looking to buy some front brake pads for CTS >05 . Which one would you suggest from the following:

Mintex brake pads, around £25 pair

OMP £51 for pair (ebay) (for light competition use)

EBC GREEN STUFF/REDSTUFF (not sure)

Brembo ?

budget branded BRAKE PADS< £20.00 pair.

I hear mintex pads are overated and they seem to fade away fast, is this true? also anyone with past experience tell me which pads best to go with? i have drilled and grooved brake discs all around. thanks.

I've found some on eBay, quite cheap to be honest, the pads are for the 2002 corolla t sport, are they same size for the facelift corolla TS?

I've found some on eBay, quite cheap to be honest £21.99, the pads are for the 2002 corolla t sport, are they same size for the facelift corolla TS?

I've noticed this seller is selling same pads for same car, double the price, although i have looked at the dimension size for the pads are different, just can 't understand why, i beleieve the pad size are same from 2002 til 2006. Can someone have a look at these two links one's above and one's below and tell me why one set is almost double the price for same car/model.

I think he's screwed up because the £20 ones are rears.

In any case you want Ferodo DS2500, if you are aesthetic individual and can't bare to coat your wheels - buy something else. If you want the best stopping power I think the Ferodo's are the ones to have. I went round the Nurburgring for about an hour and the brakes didn't fade.

I'm currently under going a brake upgrade

Fitting Braided hoses from fensport

now seen as im upgrading my hoses pads and discs is it worth moving onto 5.1 brake fluid??

Im not bothered about the cost as the difference is minimal

whats the difference?? does it have to be changed more regular??

are there any brands I should be after??

cheers

I think bridges may have fitted some HEL's...not sure mind.

friend upgraded his brake lines a while ago on his prefacelift and says he's noticed a "fair" amount of difference to response. :)
