Is it just running the base map?

Really interested in what was involved in making the PFC work, did you just get one of those harnesses you were talking about a few months back and plug it all in?

Did you have to program your keys back onto the PFC?

I made my own harness, it's plug and play. no need to reprogram keys because the stock ECU is still in the car.

The apexi has the monkeywrench map in it and I think that is my issue. Going to have a poke with the fueling levels and see where I go, the wideband is going to AFR of 11 when it's starting to splutter so clearly too much fuel.

You could just plug in an apexi into the car and it would work but the following would not function:

1. Power steering

2. Gauges

3. Air Con

So in effect, you've piggybacked a standalone ECU - excellent work

You need to share your secrets!

Not quite, A piggyback modifies the stock ECU's signals.

The install I've done doesn't use the stock ECU for any engine control whatsoever, the Apexi does all of that.

The stock ecu is just there to make the gauges/air con work.

Won't you have constant CEL's?

Dunno yet..

At the moment the Apexi is in control and the Stock ECU knows it isn't.

My next step is to fool the stock ECU into thinking it is still in control. I need to feed it with an IGT signal, VVTI signals and perhaps an O2 signal.

Okay, it's got a bit of compressor surge when its parked up if I rev the !Removed! off it.

I will see what it is like under load.

Oh dear, I got a bit excited whilst driving the car up and down the road that I booted it (on bog standard injectors = detonation), the yellow warning light came on followed by a plume of smoke and it filled the cabin up too. I had to push the car home :(

a bit of an anti climax but i've disabled the supercharger until next weekend. This is purely because I'm so tempted to nail it and don't want to stuff it up.

safety first!

It seems by the time this project is done u may have exceeded TTE's ability to improve the T Sport...

Well done!

Haha,

I have tried to make everything very reliable so we'll see how it goes. I carry on where the OEM stopped!

Todays update,

I have installed some gatorback belt onto the drive of the supercharger, it is supposed to be more resistant to slip because the contact pressure is higher. I didn't really have problems with the gates belt but this was on eBay and thought it was worth a punt so I bought it. It is way way easier than a standard belt to install though.

You can see the comparison between the gates and the goodyear here.

It doesn't look like it has the same profile but it does!
