hi all , any one know the correct idle speed for a 2001 vvti 1.6 corolla ? currently idling at 700-800, seems a bit low , any advice appreciated,

My dad has the same Rolla and he has the same idle speed.

Don't worry! Main 2002 1.6L, has the same idle speed.

thanks just thought it was a bit low , used to my old ford that revved like buggery but didnt go anywhere .

My 4a-fe also idled at about 700rpm, asked them to push it to 950rpm, makes a difference on pull-away. didn't cost a cent.

My 1.6 52 T3 idles at about 500 and is really unsmooth. Turning on the aircon or very very slightly pressing the accelerator to raise the revs to 600 or 700ish cures it.

Asked the local dealer to reprogram the idle rpm and they basically said thats how its meant to be and we should leave it. They really do suck.
