E12 Steering Rack

just curious as to weather these fail as iav not heard any reports but 1 of my mates insists they give trouble

they dont fail. often they get stiff half way through going from lock to lock and then when you yank it harder it releases and some people may think this is it failing however its just a quirk of the toyota rack far as im concerned.

ive never changed one pretty good on corolla compared to other models

i believe the rack is electric, its not hydraulic which is why wiggling the wheel causes the idle to go funny. there have been no reports of fails on this site afaik.
