I have a 97 prwevia 2.4 petrol english, it has developed a whine which increses with revs ,does not start making noise when cold but then shortly after. I have changed power steering pump as someone suggested.

Is there anything else which could cause this noise.

Thanks

Charlie, I would have a guess that it maybe the viscous cooling fan which would not be on when engine is cold. They do whine, common on all MK1 Previas but should stop when fan goes off.

Possibly a belt tensioner?

My parents have had 4 Previa's over the years and 3 out of 4 have had issues with them - all replaced under warranty so they're a known weak spot. All their cars were automatic & either GX or T Spirit spec.

Good luck with it.

Steve
