Sadly there aren't many on here with a starlet that old.

Generally it is drain gearbox oil, remove passenger hub, remove drive shaft, remove gearbox, do clutch, reverse.

Sorry I couldn't have been more helpful

Thanks, looking at the little bugger,I was expecting to have to remove the entire drive train!

Is the L/H hub straight forward?

Would guess, without looking at it, that it is wheel off, unbolt the two bolts at the bottom of the strut, remove the nut that secures the driveshaft, remove the wheel bearing and pull the disc towards you

Thanks for your help,I bought the thing cheaply 12 months back but 'er indoors has become attached to it,as they do...I've found a 'clutch kit' on the 'tinernet for £70 so was thinking of getting it in the garage and having a go!

I'm a BMW man at heart,so I am used to RWD...

It's not old at 26,I'm more than twice that!

Sorry, not used to this forum's workings yet,not even Mr Haynes knows about this sorry !Removed!,no,that's not quite right, this last week it's turned in 45mpg,when 'er indoors uses my BMW for work I'm lucky to see 18mpg...so if I can fix it up cheaply it's worth the effort!

I'll have another look at it,now I have your advice to work with.

Many thanks.
