Corolla Gearbox 1.8 Diesel

as above , the gear ratios in 1.8 diesel corolla are they the same as 2.0 litre diesel corolla???

i hope not because the gear ratio in the 2.0 diesel i have is way too high... if you need an example of perfect gear ratios for a diesel engine take a look at any variant of the 1.9tdi VAG engine. no matter if you buy it in 90/105/110/115/130/150 bhp they all pull very strong cos VAG sort the gearing out so this is possible.

The gear ratios in my brother's Corolla D4D (Which I think is a 2.0) feel similar to my Yaris' (i.e. similar revs at a given speed/gear combo).

It makes it much nicer when I borrow his car as I can short-shift like I do in my Yaris, whereas if I did that in my dad's Focus it'd lag like heck as it has much longer gearing...

More so actually, as the Corolla's D4D has soooooo much torque so I can shift even earlier :D (I want that engine in mah Yarisss!)
