for the past few days ive noticed a slight ratle from the engine when semi warmed up at idle.dosnt rattle when completly cold or completly warmed up, only when driven from cold for a mile or 2 then let the engine idle, maybe the timing chain ?

just hope it does it when at dealers next week for other problems including steering rack replacement

any body else had this noise, or anybody got any ideas ? its a 1.6 petrol.

hi foreered.

yes it could be the chain.which will have self adjustment, but this could be sticking,or just on the edge of adjusting.

you may find this problem cures its self with a few more miles on clock.but thought it would worse when engine cold.

you have to take in account that your engine idles faster when cold a cos of auto choke or what ever they call it now.
