How hard is it to do? do I need any specialist tools or is it something I can do at home?

not too sure lad, cant see it being too hard and toyota aint know for being too difficult to work on or needing special tools.

think i may have 1 on the way out myself but i didnt think you would.

how many miles have you on the car ?

Think you need a bearing puller tool, a combination of sockets and a possibly a grinder.

Might want to confirm with one of the Toyota techies on the forum though :)

you'll need a press to put the new one in.

to get the old one out, you either need a press or the rather cunning method that works is to beat the rolling elements out and then run a spot of mig weld all the way round the outer race. As it cools the bearing will be loose in the hole and will fall out.
