4 Year / 40,000 Mile Service?

Hi guys,

Just been checking when my car's due for its MOT/Service (I'll probably get them done around the same time). Basically, I know I'm due the 4 year full service... just wondering how much people have experienced paying for this particular one? And exactly what I should be expecting... I know it tells me things in the service booklet but I'd like some real-life experiences! Won't be doing it for another month or so, just wanted to get some ideas early on.

Looking forward to the £20 tax next month though! :P

Cheers

I've got a long way to go, but why not try phoning around? You must have more than one Toyota dealers around you... Don't necessarily go for the cheapest though, cheap is not always good

Only a rough idea......

The Aygo servicing schedule is normally......

Year 1 Cheap......basic service.

Year 2 More expensive......full service.

Year 3 Cheap......basic service.

I asked at my 3 year service and was told......

Because the warranty is normally finished at 3 years, people tend to take their cars elsewhere

for servicing. Because of this, the 4th service and subsequent services on "older" cars is

priced at a more competetive hourly rate to encourage customers to stay.

(This was true with my wife's Honda).

The 4 year service, I was told (which includes spark plugs) will work out at roughly

the same price as a 3 year service.

So, all being well, just short of £200.00.

We'll see in March 2011.

Sorry I can't give exact figures.

Ian.

Over here it's roughly the same, a cheap service (€112) at 15.000km/1 year,

then€216 at 30.000km/2 years, €112 again at 45.000km/3 years.

But then it gets interesting: at 60.000km the next service is €224,

but at 4 years that same service is €261!

75.000km/5 years is €112 again and

90.000km/6 years (my next service) is €270...

And I've allready had a separate APK (equal to an MOT) at 4 years for €39,95.

Apart from tyres that's the only corst I've had in maintenance too,

so I'm VERY happy: my Nissan 100NX cost me over €1000 in the last year I had it...

I think ours was around £190 for the 40k.

IIRC £90 for 10k, £160 for 20k, £120 for 30k.

There are two dealers within reasonable distance. The closest is about 30 miles and is generally £20-30 more per service than the alternative which is a round 50 miles away.

We usually make a day out of it and go for breakfast on the money saved. For the 40k we were unable to do this so went to the more expensive dealership.

I would say £160-200 would cover most dealerships.

Regards, Neil

£190 is €218,53, so I think that's a fair price...

Thanks guys, that's given me a good idea... I'd like to try and take it to Lindop (as the previous three services were done at Lindop), and I'm not so keen on my other local dealer from previous experiences. Thanks for you replies, I literally had no idea but those prices don't sound too bad.

Hope your Aygos are all running well! Mine's doing fine :)

I just paid £225 - but this included a brake fluid change - so probably £180/190 if I did not ask for the fluid

Mine is doing fine too: it'll be passing 90.000km within the next month

I guess, so I'm not complaining. Still runs like a charm, hasn't ever let

me down and is VERY cheap to run compared to my previous cars...

A rear tyre for my DeLorean set me back allmost as much as an entire set for the Aygo :D
