Hi mate, I have attached a couple of pdf files that should tell you all you need to know. You will need to download the free Adobe reader software first from the net to open the file if you don't already have it.

It's a big expensive job to tackle so if you have never done a front wheel drive clutch before on a big car like an Avensis then get a reliable garage to do it for you using genuine Toyota or top quality replacement parts.

Regards and good luck, Pete..

The job will have taken me 12hours without a ramp or a pit, just axel stands. The old track rod ends replaced and the antiroll bar links. What a pig of a job but the old dual mass clutch had done 180k and from what others say on here it must be something of a record given the amount of problems others have had!Dont know why castle nuts and split pins are used on a car this young on track rods, the new rod ends have nylocks.

Hi t-spiritpete, I've to replace my 2004 Avensis saloon 1.6 petrol clutch & my wifes 2002 Corolla 1.4 VVTI 4 door clutch - expensive after Christmas. Just wondering if these downloads are basically the same for the 1.6 Avensis & 1.4 Corolla ? Is there anything to watch out for while c/o the job ? Thanks in advance.
