2006 Rav4 - 3.5 Mm Port

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Just got a Kennsington Delux Audio which uses a 3.5mm to connect to the stereo. (I've tried the Wifi ones and they are terrible)

Is there anyway I can connect this to my stock Stereo, it's no 3.5mm female on it?

C

As far as I am aware it is only recently that Toyota starting doing the "easy" front console aux input on their headunits in Europe.

Other than hacking the stereo internally, as far as I know, there is only really one "clean" way to do this.

There is effectively an "aux" input on the back of the headunit, but to activate it requires some additional electronics to talk to the headunit (on a bus called avclan). The usual approach is for the extra electronics to pretend to be a cd-changer.

You either get an 'aux' box that pretends to be a cd changer:

for example google for devices like connects2 or grom

or some people even build their own:
