Anyone Know Where To Get A Cheap Oil Service

I don't know which particular D4D you have but on my 2.2 (non-D-CAT) Edge 5W30 isn't the best oil.

It's a B3 grade whereas my car is recommended B1.

What's the difference? Well, B3 will stay in grade longer but it has a higher HTHS (thicker) whereas B1 must show an mpg improvement of at least 2.5%.

& now there is a B5 grade which combines the fuel saving of B1 with the longer in grade life of B3/B4.

Up until yesterday you could buy 8l of Catrol Magnatec A1/B1 A5/B5 for £32 in Tesco.

Still if they are giving you 6l of Edge 5W30, a decent filter & labour for £31.50 it seems good.

But why do you need an oil only service in between 10,000 mile services (my car uses less than 1l between services & B3/B5 grade should stay in grade fore longer than 10,000 miles)?

there people who change their oil every 6 months what ever their miliage, but change the filter at the 10000 miles.

no harm in it. their choice.as the same as you have one.
