Hi,

I have seen a VVTi 190 Celica for sale and was wondering why it is not classed as a VVTLi? It even says in the insurance details VVTi 190??? Has this had an engine upgrade from the standard VVTi engine or something? It is confusing me.

Any help as to why this is would be greatful.

Thanks

Jon

You can blame Toyota for the confusion, the 190 was badged VVTi-190 from 2000 to 2002 when it was discontinued.

Discontinued and rebadged as the T-Sport with the same 2ZZ-GE engine.

As well as the 190, I see a lot of dealers making the mistake of saying the T Sport is vvti rather than vvtli, quick look at the rev gauge will tell you - revs to 8250.

Dont forget to change the lift bolts if you buy a 190 though or you may have engine issues down the road.

X2 on this.

So many dealers make this mistake they do the same with the Corolla TS.
