I'm Going To Be Detailed

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow's the day  Dear newish car with 2 months worth of dirt is going for tlc. Plan is to drive it to Mr Clean who will:

give it a wash and shift s*** using Autosmart Tardis, claying and whatever.

machine polish/glaze

paint conditioner

carnuba wax

C1 Crystal Lacquer (the best bit)

I will watch and learn then be taken home and collect car Thurday when stuff has hardened.

Fingers crossed. Hope looks live up to the hype.

Blimey you're spoiling it! You do know it'll expect such treatment as regularly in future! You've set a precedent now!

What's the cost and where are you having it done? Thx

Done & dusted

Took the chap 8 hrs in total - I know, I was there. Biggest eye opener to me was the mess I'd made of the paint by trying to remove some albatross droppings a few weeks ago using a damp polyroll. Took him over an hour to polish out my scuff marks that I hadn't even seen.

Looks nice but key question is... Will it remain so?

Blab on the sealant if anyone's interested http://www.gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/exterior-coatings/c1-crystal-lacquer/

BTW paint thickness on this car is about 110-120 microns on metal and 70-80 on the plastic. Average I'm told.
