Whisteling Noise On Toyota Corolla Verso T2

[Help Please]

Hi, just got a 55 plate Corolla Verso and when I change gears I have a noise like the air brake on a lorry, this also happens when you just slightly push the fuel. it is now just started making whisteling noise when i change gears.

Please help.

turbo possibly? check the turbo piping. our old avensis diesel started whistling like a scooby lol when one of the pipes had split. no major trouble just case of getting the pipe from mr t and swapping it over.

Thanks, the whistling just stopped for no reason, but in gears first to third, it still sounds like a lorrys air brake is being used when you take your foot off the fuel.Any ideas.

Could be the pipe that runs from tge airbox to the inlet of the turbo could be split.
